KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A | Automotive Finance & Strategic Partnerships

1.Lead the structuring, drafting, review and negotiation of agreements with banks, financing companies, dealers, technology providers and other partners supporting automotive finance initiatives.

2.Assess proposed business models, the allocation of responsibilities between BYD entities and regulated partners, and relevant licensing, financial services and consumer protection requirements.

3.Advise on customer-facing terms, product disclosures, co-branding, promotions, referrals, complaint handling, consent mechanisms and related data-sharing arrangements.

4.Negotiate suitable protections on liability, indemnities, confidentiality, intellectual property, fees, service standards, termination, regulatory cooperation and data protection.

5.Provide clear legal advice to commercial teams throughout partner onboarding, product development, implementation and changes to financing arrangements.

B | EV Charging & Other Business Initiatives

1.Support new business projects, including EV charging infrastructure, equipment placement, site-use arrangements, vendors and third-party operating partnerships.

2.Review relevant business models and contracts, including equipment supply, procurement, leasing, free-use, cost-sharing and revenue-sharing arrangements.

3.Identify material regulatory and operational risks, including licensing, electricity-related rules and site or asset responsibilities where applicable; recommend workable mitigations.

C | General Commercial Legal & Corporate Support

1.Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements covering dealers and distribution, procurement, marketing, logistics, technology, services and other operating matters.

2.Prepare concise legal assessments and practical recommendations on corporate, contractual, regulatory and dispute-related issues affecting Indonesia operations.

3.Coordinate with internal functions, HQ or regional legal colleagues, external counsel and business partners; escalate material legal risks in a timely manner.

4.Maintain appropriate contract governance, records and follow-up to support effective implementation and internal approval requirements.

Requirements

1. QUALIFICATIONS

   •Bachelor of Laws (S.H.) from a recognized university in Indonesia.

   •5–6 years of relevant post-graduation legal experience in a reputable law firm, as in-house counsel, or a combination of both.

   •Strong command of Indonesian contract, corporate and commercial law, with hands-on experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.

   •Practical exposure to banking, Mult finance, automotive financing or financial-services partnerships; familiarity with applicable OJK and Bank Indonesia requirements is an advantage.

   •Good understanding of consumer protection, personal data protection and regulatory risk assessment in commercial transactions.

   •Able to manage matters independently, work across functions, exercise sound judgment and deliver business-focused advice under deadlines.

   •Strong written and spoken English; Mandarin language skills are an advantage but are not mandatory.
